Erin Chae

Ms. Erin Chae is the School Liaison Program Specialist at Air Force Services Center, Air Force Installation Mission Support Center, Joint Base San Antonio Lackland-Kelly, Texas. She is one of two functional managers in the Department of the Air Force providing technical direction, administrative support, and training for the School Liaison Program. She provides operational and career field guidance for its ninety-one installation level school liaison program managers and is an advisor to senior level leadership on military dependent Pre-kindergarten through grade 12 education policy, state/federal education laws, overseas education programs, and special education transitional challenges.
Prior to her current position, Ms. Chae was a Child and Youth Programs Specialist, also with Air Force Services Center, where she served as an inspector for all the Child and Youth Programs as well as the support staff personnel for Air Force Global Strike Command installations. Before coming to Texas, she was the Supervisory School Liaison Officer at Royal Air Force Lakenheath, United Kingdom. During the beginning months of the COVID-19 pandemic, she was instrumental in developing education continuity policies, interdepartmental communication plans, and socially-distanced programs working closely with the military community, senior leadership, DoDEA school staff, and UK administrators.
Prior to entering public service, Ms. Chae’s love of science and learning along with her years of experience as a research scientist with a pharmaceutical company eventually led her into the classrooms to teach. She has held several professional educator positions at both the post-secondary and secondary levels including several years as a special education teacher and case manager.
