Ed Veiga

Senior Director, Government and Corporate Division, NMSI

Ed Veiga serves as the Senor Director, Government and Corporate Relations. He also serves as the Project Director, Military Families Mission, for the National Math and Science Initiative, a national non-profit organization headquartered in Dallas. In his role, he is responsible for managing and implementing the NMSI partnership with the Department of Defense STEM and the Defense STEM Education Consortium.


Ed’s principal focus is implementing the NMSI College Readiness Program and affiliated NMSI programs in qualifying high schools across the nation that serve military connected children. This DoD funded project, to date, has served over 300 schools and over 90 installations in 35 states.


Ed is a retired U.S. Army Colonel, having served over 28 years as an aviator and public affairs officer. He has commanded at the company and battalion levels and served in the Office of the Secretary of Defense. He has also served in a variety of senior positions in corporate and non-profit organizations. He points with pride to his life experience as an Army Brat and the fact that he and his wife Joan have raised three Army Brats who have found great success and happiness in their education, career, and family pursuits. Most importantly, Ed values education and continued service to Military Families.
