“Writing Your Way into a Conversation” Part 1
Writing is like having a conversation with someone who never gets to see your gestures or look upon your expressive face when reading your words. Writing, then, has to say everything you need it to say, when you need it said, and for the person or group with whom you are communicating. By going back to ancient observations about communication, we will talk about and employ techniques to make writing clear from the start—the kind of writing that inspires forward-moving conversation, not questions to clarify meaning. We will practice writing in several different scenarios to hone the techniques. Participants will get a "tips" sheet to take with them to use in everyday work/life.
